Breath Control Set Share
This is one of my favorite pull/breath control sets. It can be modified for all abilities. In fact you don't even need to use your pull equipment I just prefer to!
Originally this set is meant to be 800 yards/meters broken up by 50's. For younger or more novice swimmers we can cut that in half to 400 yards/meters broken up by 25. So make your pick 16 x 50's or 16 x 25's.
Broken up into four sets of four it is time to begin. Find an acceptable starting point. For me right now I would start at 4 breaths per 50 on :45 seconds. By round of four take away a breath and add :05 seconds to your interval.
Round 1
4 x 50's @ :45 with 4 breaths
Round 2
4 x 50's @ :50 with 3 breaths
Round 3
4 x 50's @ :55 with 2 breaths
Round 4
4 x 50's @ 1:00 with 1 breath
Round 1
4 x 25's @ :25 with 3 breaths
Round 2
4 x 25's @ :30 with 2 breaths
Round 3
4 x 25's @ :35 with 1 breath
Round 4
4 x 25's @:40 with no breath
You can add time or breaths to your starting point to build your own challenge! Push yourself and get a little uncomfortable!
