Women's DI College Swimming Rankings
NCAA Championships begin in March of 2015 and while comprehensive rankings are floating all over the internet, no one really knows what will happen come the Big Meet. This year, post December invites, is a list of the potentially top scoring teams heading into the New Year.
1. Cal: You wonder if they can't be beat, led by the legendary Teri McKeever and America's golden girl Missy Franklin this team is stacked.
2. Georgia: They get their head coach Jack Bauerle back in action later this season and the bulldogs are always ready to battle and maintain their seemingly permanent place in the top five.
3. Stanford: Rounding out the top three is the cardinal and while this is where they have been ranked via vote, it is more than possible and even probable Stanford will be in a head-to-head death match with Cal come NCAA champs. Head coach Greg Meehan has been hauling in the recruits and building a strong team. Watch for standout Simone Manuel.
4. Texas A&M: This team made their way into the top ten a few years back, then into the top five and there they have stayed under the leadership of Steve Bultman in his 16th season.
5. Virginia: The ladies of Virginia have moved into the top five under the tutelage of head coach Augie Busch. Despite a fairly recent change in the coaching staff the women have flourished and will hopefully hold their place in the top five come March.
6. Texas: The Longhorns are holding strong in the top ten with Carol Capitani at the helm.
7. Florida: Watch for the Gators to move up from this ranking as annual big swims at NCAA's rule. In season meets don't always show how talented a squad is, but head coach Gregg Troy is sure to have them ready come March.
8. Michigan: The Wolverine women couldn't let the men have all the fun and have broken into the top ten in rankings led by head coach Mike Bottom. With his history it's no surprise the leaps and bounds the women's roster has made in the past few years.
9. Louisville: Arthur Albiero is leading both of his teams into the top ten this year. Consistency has paid off, and this tight knit staff is getting it done one step at a time.
10. UCLA: With 27 years behind her Cyndi Gallagher has always kept the Bruins in the top 20 at NCAA's and this year is no exception as her team rounds out the top ten.
Honorable Mention: Tennessee, Arizona, Auburn, Minnesota, Missouri
